The Kindergarten in Wallisellen works in accordance with the Montessori method in the mornings. A member of the support staff looks after each area and will encourage the independence of the child.
Your child can, by request, help us when we cook. At lunchtime, children lay the table, clear it, dry the dishes and put them away. After they have cleaned their teeth, they have a 30-minute rest period. The children listen to music, look at children's books or tell stories to allow what they have learned in the morning to be absorbed.
Once a week, a trained musician provides a music lesson. Drums, rattles and whistles are used to work through topics on the musical and rhythmic level.
PE takes place twice a week in the multi-purpose hall in Wallisellen. The gym is within easy walking distance. We place a very high value on movement in the fresh air. In the afternoon, the children play independently in our playground or they go on exciting outings.
Every Wednesday morning, we teach 1.5 hours of English. During the subsequent morning in the wood, the children investigate the animals in the forest and gather materials from nature for craft activities, depending on the season.
